The District Mineral Foundation (DMF) is a non-profit statutory trust set up in all districts affected by mining operations in India. It was established under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Act, 2015 (MMDR Act).

Funding Source
DMFs are funded through contributions from miners:
• 10% of royalty for leases granted before 2015.
• 30% of royalty for leases granted after 2015.
