Description
What is a High-Pressure Fog Dust Control System?
Unlike traditional water spray systems that create large droplets, high-pressure fog systems generate fog-like mist with droplets as small as 10–30 microns. These droplets stay suspended in the air longer, increasing their chances of capturing airborne dust particles, making the system highly effective in controlling PM10 and PM2.5 dust particles.
How It Works
Pressurization: Water is pumped through a high-pressure pump (40–200 bar).
Atomization: Special nozzles break water into ultra-fine droplets.
Dust Binding: Droplets collide with dust particles, increasing their mass and causing them to fall.
Control & Automation: Timers, sensors, and PLC-based controls optimize the process.
Key Components
High-Pressure Pump (Stainless Steel or Brass): Ensures consistent atomization.
Fogging Nozzles: Ceramic or stainless steel with anti-drip features.
Tubing Network: Stainless steel or flexible nylon for outdoor/indoor use.
Filtration System: Removes impurities to prevent nozzle clogging.
Control Panel: Manual or automated operation with dust sensors.
Applications
Mining & Quarrying: Controlling dust at crushing, screening, and haul roads.
Power Plants: Coal handling areas, ash handling systems.
Cement Plants: Crushers, conveyor transfer points, stockyards.
Steel Plants: Raw material handling, slag dumping areas.
Construction Sites: Demolition, excavation, and road building.
Recycling Plants: Dust control in shredding and sorting zones.
Advantages
- Efficient Dust Suppression: Controls fine airborne dust without excessive water usage.
- Environment-Friendly: No harmful chemicals needed.
- Improved Air Quality: Reduces health risks and ensures regulatory compliance.
- Energy & Water Saving: Uses 60–70% less water compared to traditional sprinklers.
- Scalable & Flexible: Can be installed as fixed systems or mobile fog cannons.
System Types
Fixed Fogging Systems: Permanent installations at dust-prone points.
Fog Cannon Systems: Mobile or trailer-mounted units for open areas.
Hybrid Fog Systems: Combination of fixed lines and mobile cannons.
